The best design studios for AI startups, Studio Huncho shortlist, October 2026

The short answer

The best design studios for AI startups in 2026 are the ones that can make a technical product obvious in seconds and ship the brand, website and launch assets in the same visual language. The studios worth a first call are Studio Huncho, Clay, Koto, Ragged Edge, Ramotion and Focus Lab. They differ most on budget, location and how much of the work (brand, website, product, launch film) they handle in one team.

How we picked

We're a studio that works with AI startups, so we know this market well, and we've included ourselves alongside the established agencies founders most often compare us with. Every studio here had to meet three tests, checked on their own websites:

  • Real AI or tech work on show. Named AI or software clients in their public portfolio, not just a logo wall.
  • Brand and website together. AI startups usually need a new identity and a new site at the same moment, often before a raise or launch.
  • Clear about who they serve. A stated focus on startups or B2B tech, so you know whether you fit.

The list isn't ranked. Each entry says who the studio is best for.

The studios

1. Studio Huncho (Bengaluru, India)

Best for: AI-native startups that want the craft of a large agency with the speed of a startup team: brand, website and launch film from one studio, timed to a raise.

That's us. We design brand identities, websites in Webflow and Framer, product UI and launch films for AI and SaaS companies. Our work includes the brand and site behind Further AI's $25M Series A from a16z, Refold AI's 45-day rebrand from Cobalt, Sookti AI's eight-week launch for its Peak XV announcement, and launch films for Sprinto, Breakout and Sookti. We're Pine Labs' motion design partner.

Worth knowing: 5.0 on Clutch. Most brand projects take 4 to 6 weeks; most websites 2 to 6.

2. Ramotion (San Francisco, USA)

Best for: funded startups that want brand, website and product design from a long-established agency.

A product and brand design agency with more than 15 years behind it. Its AI and software work includes Descript, Flatfile and Clearbit.

Worth knowing: it builds in Webflow or Next.js, and has offices in San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles.

3. Focus Lab (USA)

Best for: B2B AI companies selling to enterprise, where positioning matters as much as the visuals.

A fully remote B2B brand agency covering strategy, visual and verbal identity, web design and brand activation. Its AI and tech work includes PolyAI, ASAPP and LaunchDarkly.

Worth knowing: it publishes pricing on its site. Product UI design isn't among its listed services.

4. Koto (London, UK)

Best for: well-funded companies planning a global rebrand with naming, motion and campaigns.

A creative studio covering strategy, naming, visual, motion, verbal and sonic identity, UX and campaigns. Its work includes the brand system for Microsoft's Copilot+ PC, along with Instagram and Amazon.

Worth knowing: offices across the US, UK, Europe and Australia; the work leans enterprise.

5. Ragged Edge (London, UK)

Best for: AI products that need a bold, consumer-grade brand to stand out in a crowded category.

A brand company founded in 2007, covering strategy, identity systems, rebrands and campaigns. Its AI work includes the rebrand of Granola, the AI notepad, with a custom typeface, a new voice and out-of-home campaigns. Other clients include Wise and Marshmallow.

Worth knowing: it is brand-led, so confirm website build scope separately.

6. Clay (San Francisco, USA)

Best for: startups where the product experience needs as much design attention as the marketing site.

A branding and UX design agency with product design, development, motion, 3D, video and generative AI work in-house. Its clients include Meta, Google, Stripe, Coinbase, Slack and Snapchat.

Worth knowing: works from early-stage startups to Fortune 100 companies.

How to choose

  • Start from your date. If a raise or launch is less than eight weeks away, ask each studio what they can ship by then, not what they can ship in general.
  • Check the AI work, not the logo wall. Ask to see one project where they made a technical AI product easy to understand.
  • Decide on Webflow or Framer early. Pick the platform your marketing team will actually edit after launch.
  • Ask who does the launch film. If the brand, site and film come from different teams, they rarely look like one company.
  • Talk to a past client. Any good studio will put you in touch with one if you ask.

FAQ

How long does a rebrand take for an AI startup?

Usually four to eight weeks for the brand, and six to ten if a new website is included. Faster is possible when the scope is tight: Refold AI went from kickoff to live in 45 days.

Should an AI startup rebrand before or after a fundraise?

Usually before. Most teams start 6 to 10 weeks ahead of the announcement so the new brand and site are live when investors and press look.

Do I need a specialist AI studio?

Not necessarily, but it helps. Studios that have explained AI products before know how to show what an agent or model actually does, which is where most AI websites fall short.

Webflow or Framer for an AI startup website?

Webflow suits content-heavy sites with a large CMS and blog. Framer suits fast-moving teams that want rich interactions and quick edits. Both let your team update the site without a developer. We build in both; see Webflow and Framer development.
